We have been shipping cattle at our Oregon ranch this month- It’s hard and exhausting work. We move our cattle around as efficiently as possible and it is a delicate process. We raise and grow cattle for the production of meat. We do everything we can to take as good of care of them as we can while they are here in our care, from feeding them in storms, doctoring them when they are sick, or helping deliver calves. Our job is to take care of them. As part of our job is to ship the cattle from one ranch to another for better weather and gazing ground.
This winter was a successful shipping season. Joe and his father, Big D, started gathering the cattle at daylight and finished at dusk. This went on for a few days. Both men had impressive beards by the end of the week. Chelsea was unable to join the fun this shipping season (24 weeks pregnant and a teething toddler) so Joe had to survived on simply steaks and snickers bars. He survived just fine 🙂
